Here is video showing the scene of the story we shared with you Tuesday. In it, you can hear the crowd’s reaction to the assault and then see Michaela Morales taken away by police as she gestures to a supporting crowd. You can see the entire video posted by MTSU’s Sidelines on their YouTube channel here.
It’s kinda gross to see Morales show-boating after the assault and even more disturbing that students seem to support what Morales did. Watch at mark 2:43 as the crowd applauds and cheers Morales for her criminal behavior. Disgusting.
More from today’s Daily News Journal:
Michaela Morales, a 23-year-old MTSU student, was among those students who challenged the evangelists’ preaching, which some students viewed as hateful. But campus police say that at some point Morales’ vocal opposition turned physical — and criminal.
An arrest report by MTSU Police Sgt. Misty White said that she observed a female, later identified as Morales, push a male with both hands off a wall where he was standing outside Keathley University Center.
“He hit the trash can on the way down with his side, and laid there,” the report said. “I checked on him and then went to get the female who assaulted him.”

Wow…that certainly shows a different side of things than I saw on some other TV channels that night.
That is disgusting. The man has freedom of speech whether you agree with him or not. In turn, she had the freedom to walk away. Sounds like this 23 year-old little girl needs to grow up.
This article is disgusting. I saw what happened, and what was disgusting was the message this guy was preaching! Gays go to hell, girls that get raped go to hell. I do agree that maybe she needs to grow up and control her emotions, BUT I saw the man put his hands on HER first.
judge not lest ye be judged
Maybe you don’t understand. This woman felt DISRESPECTED. She was OFFENDED. That means she’s the victim and entitled to take matters into her own hands. Seize the power! No justice, no peace! Right on, right on, right on!
No, the law does not allow you to take justice into your own hands by committing assault. I’m not saying the guy was right or that I agree with anything he said. I’m saying she didn’t have a right to push him down the stairs. It doesn’t matter if she was offended. I’m offended by little geeks in baggy pants with their underwear hanging out, but that doesn’t give me the right to push Mr. Tacky down the escalator at the mall. That’s the point.
I also find it funny that you use the word “peace” while defending someone for committing assault. That’s not peace Einstein.
This is exactly what these lesbians are all about. You can’t even roll your eyes at them anymore without them getting in your face and calling you a bigot. They think it’s perfectly normal to kiss in a restaurant and its not. Not even straight people kiss like lesbians do in public.
The liberals are here are turning to violence because they cannot win against the power of truth in the Word of God. I do not have ill will toward that girl and I will pray for her. What she did is wrong and it’s time we all realize that evil is wrong. Sin is sin and I have a right to say so and say you are going to Hell. You do not have the right to assault me. You lose. Go to jail.
So a woman cannot defend herself from sexual assault?
Funny how some people who are perfectly willing to defend the right to bear and keep arms, and to defend yourself, all of the sudden become Ghandi when its a woman defending herself agaisnt sexual assault.
This is hypocrisy, plain and simple.
Michaela is an example to us all that free *speech* is one thing, and free *groping of tits* is another.
It is really sad to see people defending a sexual assault in this manner…
This article conveniently ignores the fact that she was defending herself from a sexual assault.
OK, the police never determined Morales was “sexually assaulted” or even assaulted. To my knowledge, Morales has not filed any such charges against the preacher, and the police have based their arrest of Morales on witnesses and video (which may or may not be the same video shown above).
If Morales was sexually assaulted or assaulted in anyway, don’t you think she should file charges? It appeared in the video she was having a really good time considering what you believe happen.
These students are disgusting. They continually attempt to shout down and disrupt speech with which they do not agree. Two quotes to keep in mind from Voltaire:
“I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”
and
“I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: “O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.” And God granted it.”
A couple hundred years later, and he’s still relavent.
Those quotes are being misconstrued:
Free speech includes confronting speech you disagree with. Period.
“Those quotes are being misconstrued:

Not with violence.
Wow you MTSU students are HARD CORE!
You have to put up with the “MAN” saying stuff on a sidewalk.
Who in heck does he think he is spewing his thoughts that you don’t like? How do you put up with it?
But it’s on now, you push that unarmed sandwich board wearing dude over the edge and onto a garbage can,
and so the revolution begins.
And ya’ll don’t look lame at all on youtube, screaming your awesome college educated arguments,
I’m sure your professors are real proud.

The Supreme Court has explicitly held on numerous occasions that speech cannot be restricted simply because it offends people. In ‘Street v. New York,’ 394 U.S. 576, 592 (1969), the court held that ‘t is firmly settled that under our Constitution the public expression of ideas may not be prohibited merely because the ideas are themselves offensive to some of their hearers.’ In ‘Papish v. Board of Curators of the University of Missouri,’ 410 U.S. 667, 670 (1973), the court held that ‘the mere dissemination of ideas – no matter how offensive to good taste – on a state university campus may not be shut off in the name alone of “conventions of decency”
