Stepping up for Spring Hill’s GM plant workers

by Christian Grantham - 2:01 pm - November 3rd, 2009

There are kind words, prayers and well wishes, and then there’s actually doing something to help where you can. Be one of those people.

The General Motors factory here in Spring Hill, Tennessee will be shutting down in two weeks. That’ll leave about 3000 people without work. Many of those people will come to The Well, a food pantry in our community, for help until they can find more work. The problem is The Well doesn’t have the funds necessary to meet such a huge need. It’s barely able to meet the present demand for help in our area.

So, on November 15th at 6PM Ginny Owens, Randall Goodgame, Cindy Morgan and I are playing a benefit concert at Thompson Station Baptist Church called Sing For Their Supper. There will be concessions and a silent auction too. Tickets are available at the door: $25 for a family, $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Thank you for helping us help them by spreading the word. That’s huge.
