Its a wonderful day to kick back, remember and celebrate what the 4th of July means. I think far too often we get caught up in all the festivities of events and forget to remember why in the world we are actually celebrating. Maybe you don’t, but I know Andi and I do from time to time.

As we celebrate the birth of our nation lets remember that even though it is far from perfect it is still the greatest nation on Earth. We have freedoms here that several nations could only dream of having. I think it was Churchill that said" A republic for a government is the worst kind to have behind all the others"...

Brandi and I are spending the day getting ready for our annual party. For years we’ve hosted a 4th of July party with friends. Each year our backyard fireworks show gets bigger and better. I may try to get some video for you tonight.

July 4th marks the anniversary of the birth of this nation. On that day, the Declaration of Independence was signed by a cadre of men, who wrote the words ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.’ That declaration was a living promise to future generations of certain fundamental, inalienable rights such as the right to privacy.
