Friday Burrito: taxes included

I can do this

TAX CUTS AT WORK: Wilson County schools may lose sports and other programs because their county commission doesn't want to raise property taxes a few cents. Angry parents plan to protest the commission's decision tonight by showing support for the coaches. Protests are fine, but if angry parents are tired of tax policies that plunder the future of our children they'll hold commissioners accountable at the polls.

A SEA OF WHITE PEOPLE: I continue to search for answers as to why the 2008 Republican National Convention failed to reflect the real face of America.

Among the party's 2,380 delegates gathered in St. Paul only 36 are African Americans and very few other visible minorities were to be found on the convention floor.

This is the first time in 40 years that there has been such a weak representation of minorities at a major political party convention, according to the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.

CINDY MCCAIN: John McCain is my new American hero, and his wife's story presented last night was really inspiring. Cindy would make a great First Lady, but did she seem very sleepy last night... like 250mg sleepy?

[FRIDAY BURRITO is the new lunch burrito, only it's on Friday and sometimes is later than real lunch - exclusively yours at NIT - eat it.]
