Willie Baker, former mayor of Mt. Pleasant, was indicted Tuesday on charges of sexual battery.

Baker, 76, was charged with sexual battery and sexual battery by an authority figure, a Class C felony, according to the indictment.

Class C felonies carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

He was arrested 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and released on $20,000 b
