Frank Cagle points out how difficult the transition of power between a Speaker Jimmy Naifeh and a Speaker Jason Mumpower will really be:

I am not going to stop stressing out until I am in the rental house in AZ, I think. I have had too much stuff to do and life has been so hectic the last few days. I tried to do my three hour ride yesterday and was so preoccupied by my to-do list that I gave up after an hour and went home to start working on it.

So last Friday I get a phone call. It’s BHE.

BHE: Well, I weighed myself at the doctor. I’ve lost 15 pounds.

Me: That’s awesome. Since when?

BHE (doing math in head): About a month ago?

Yesterday I had someone believe in me. They believed in me in a way I couldn’t and I can’t tell you what it did to me and for me. They saw me not for who I was, but for who I could be.

Today I raise my glass to the great Paul Newman.

Ok let me preface this by saying Ian and I are sitting at home playing a drinking game with the debate. The words are: Economy, “my friends,” change, terrorists, weapons of mass destruction, Iran. Every time one is said—by either candidate—we take a drink of beer.

Today I walked the 1/4 mile down to the Bethlehem Center where they have a Second Harvest Food Bank distribution center. And upon arrival I found the door closed. And so did a couple others who arrived about the same time. One person went inside to the Bethlehem center offices where he was told that they had given away all their food and that they had closed down their food pantry permanently.

Last weekend I went home to California for my 10 year High School Reunion!
