MOSCOW (AP) - A top Russian general said Friday that Poland's agreement to accept a U.S. missile interceptor base exposes the ex-communist nation to attack, possibly by nuclear weapons, the Interfax news agency reported.

This week marks the 63rd anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on the civilian populations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. On August 9th, 1945 at 11:01am the United States of America dropped a nuclear bomb on a pre-designated city in Japan killing 80,000 people in the second of two nuclear attacks.

Say what you will about him being a crazy religious bastard, and perhaps he can't be believed, but I wish there was an American politician that would point out the simple truth that in the last 60 years nuclear weapons have done nothing but expend billions upon billions of dollars (4 trillion+ according to some estimates) on technology that will, in most likelihood, never be used.
