It just boggles the mind to think that a child could be homeless in the richest and supposedly most advanced nation in the history of our planet.

They had the academic awards ceremony at my kids’ school last night.  It’s rough, because it’s easy to get caught up in the whole competitive nature of these things.  It’s an academic-oriented school, so for many of the kids and parents, last night was their Raison d’être.

This is the third year in a row my kids have worn their swimsuits to school for field day, but it was too cold to swim (outside).  Luckily, field day is at the Brentwood Y, but they hate swimming inside there.  I have no idea why, but they are pretty adamant about it.

Michelle Malkin has a post on banning tag from a public school playground, and adds that "The public schools are breeding a generation of bubble-wrapped ninnies who can't do math, are terrorized by the honor roll, and prance around peace trees while the children of jihad perform preschool suicide bomber tr
