Every single time the republicans get excited at the convention, they start chanting "USA USA USA." It's like the sheep are following their leaders again, and the only tangible reality to them is American flags, American flag pins, saluting and...wait, am I describing America or Nazi Germany?

There’s been an amazing development in the Corporate Overlord department this week, one mentioned little in the press since it doesn’t concern flag pins or rabid preacher types. However, it does concern America’s energy future, so I hope we’re all paying attention.

I watched last night’s debate with some friends. The whole time we were wondering why they were focusing on such non-issues. Obama was clearly annoyed with it too. As I browse the internet this morning I can see that there is a large percentage of people who feel the same way.

My Lord, that was awful. The first hour contained not a single question on any matter of policy. Not one. They asked about flag pins for crying out loud. They asked no questions, as far as I could tell, about the torture memos, about FISA, about health care, about deregulation, about the housing mortgage crisis, the world food crisis, global warming, al Qaeda or Pakistan.

FLAG PINS? Is that what George Snuffalu[bleep]us thinks is one of the most important topics that needs to be discussed in a Presidential Debate?!?
