I was terribly cruel and insensitive to the plight of what remains of the Burmese people earlier this week by intimating that Queen Laura should quit begging the Myanmar junta to steal our tax money intended for the poor and needy (as our voracious Imperialist Hegemonic Empire is wont to do).

Hurricane Katrina killed 1,836 people in the United States nearly three years ago. The evacuation effort was considered a failure. Relief organizations quickly mobilized. Americans gave a considerable amount of money to the relief efforts. People helped each other.

As I sit here reading the news, I wonder with all the things happening in the world today if the end is near. A major earthquake that has just happened, a cyclone , that has killed about 100,000 people, the fighting going on in the Middle East, and that volcano that has erupted in Chile. [...]

Is there really that much of a difference between saying that tragedy strikes you because of your spiritual immorality than your ecological immorality?
