I've read damned near everything I could find on the death of George Carlin and nothing - nothing at all - sums him up so eloquently, so poignantly, so perfectly as John Nichols' piece here. Lordy I miss him now more than when I first heard he passed and the thought of his voice being silenced just sends dark chills down my spine.

Never In Seven Years Have I Seen This.  Ever.

I’ve seen some one-of-a-kind stuff in American churches over the last seven years, but nothing like this.

I’ve seen the miraculous.  I’ve seen a prostitute run down an aisle crying out for Jesus to save her.  I’ve seen a gang member hand over his gun and get on his knees at an alter.
