This evening we got home like normal. I checked the mail like normal. It seemed like it was going to be a pretty status quo kind of evening of preparing dinner and getting ready for American Idol. The difference today was a little piece of mail that The School Girl received in today’s post.

It turns out that it pays to read the fine print. Not a day passes that I don’t get at least one junk mail enticement to sign up for a credit card. Airlines, hotels, associations, the credit card companies themselves – they send out probably billions of these offers every year.

I forgot how much I love it when I finally finish my Christmas shopping. Although, this is a dangerous time. Now that I have everything I NEEDED to buy, I start picking up things that I don't need to buy. But this is now my favorite time of the season. I look forward to the mail every day. I really love getting Christmas and Holiday cards. Such a nice change from the bills and junk mail that usually fill our box. I do get a little bit upset with all the catalogs that we get. It's crazy.
