Amy Griffith reports that at a community meeting led by Councilman and Reverend Jerry Maynard an appeal was made for Mayor Karl Dean to join the fight against school rezoning. Only one problem, he appears, more or less, to be for it:

Gail Kerr thinks Mayor Karl Dean needs to get off the fence when it come sto the subject of school rezoning:

Dean said he believes the new school board, which will be elected in three weeks, can and should revisit the rezoning plan if members want.

It’s been nearly a week since the Chamber of Commerce rolled back racial progress in the city by voting to resegregate schools. Oh wait, that was the school board that did that. I get the two confused. Anyway, there’s still been no word from any of the city’s white progressive leaders on this issue.
