So last week I walked up stairs and Jett had just gotten out of the shower. He was standing in the mirror and repeating “Oh Da*#, Oh Da*#”, over and over. So we had the following conversation….

Five weeks into school, and my stress levels are feeling it. Last Thursday, after a particularly grueling few days of road and treadmill work, strength training and pilates class, grad school, volunteer work, not to mention the ol' day job, I started to lose it. "Why," I asked my husband plaintively, "am I doing this? I still look in the mirror and loathe what I see."

Fat floats.

We all know this, right?  Fat, a lipid, is less dense than water… so it floats.

I know this. I really do.

But I was still excited at the astonishing sight I beheld in the bathtub Sunday night.

I have worked with someone in these past few, long months that I found out, the hard way, was a liar.

This person was a negative force, nothing was ever this person's fault, and the liar, who only knew my boss of 7 years for a few months, said horrible things about him to make said liar seem super awesome.

So after criticizing Obama’s inexperience, McCain picks someone with even less experience. And after criticizing Obama for “snubbing” Hillary (who, he tells us, got “millions of votes”), he “snubs” Romney and Huckabee, who also got millions of votes. Apparently, the McCain campaign doesn’t own a mirror…

I can't remember crying over how I looked any time other than when my mom would cut my hair when I was a kid.
