I caught MSNBC's David Gregory last night promoting John McCain as an effective alternative to the Bush economic policy in the wake of yesterday's market crash essentially because Sarah Palin holds down the social conservatives for him while he can play up his ethics reform background and promote tighter regulations against the broad latitude of the Bush Administration.
