Not since the Tinky Winky and SpongeBob SquarePants scandals has the world of children's entertainment been rocked by such controversy. If the Christian fundamentalists weren't pleased when NBC removed religious references in VeggieTales, the following revelation is sure to have them beating their Bibles: Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato are actually big ol' fruits!

This makes me very unhappy. There won't be any local tomatoes available for probably another month, so I suppose I will just have to do without for a while (or buy those Canadian hydroponic tomatoes--ha!).

FYI... The City of Knoxville has a new Law Director - Debbie Poplin - the first woman law director in the city's history. I have known Debbie since she took an honors Political Science course I taught at UT more than a little while back. It is very heartening to see outstanding students such as Debbie as they progress through their careers. She is a most outstanding person.
