Don was probably in his 60s and regularly burned CDs of up-and-coming indie acts for us younger employees. He drove a shiny new Honda Civic that we nicknamed Blackhawk. We would pile into it almost every night at break time, heading down to Sonic or McDonald’s or Taco Bell to escape the mind-killing, back-breaking monotony of a job that was killing us but we needed because the pay was unbeatable.
