When people use the term lifestyle business they usually are referring to something small and even part-time. Academics and policy folks will often say the term lifestyle business with a hint of indifference, boredom, or even condescension. This is not a business that interests them very much if it is not designed to scale up and grow.

I am sitting here at work trying to find things to keep me busy. I have a few things that I have been assigned but I am far from knowing enough to be self-sufficient. I am bordering on boredom but this is a much better job than my old customer service based technical support position. When I look down the hall at those people who are left over there I feel terrible for them.
