This post made me laugh.  Out of everyone I know, I really hope Newscoma finds and photographs Bigfoot, or at least some Bigfoot-type thing.

In the midst of sounding like the navel-gazing blogger that I can be at times, today I want to talk about small town newspapers. There are things that I notice that some people don’t understand unless they live in rural America.

A new feature that will be recognized as a tumblelog by the tiny fraction of the world’s inhabitants who might know what a tumblelog is, has been added to Google Reader.

I’m not lying.

I also did not know this was a problem.

You can’t make this stuff up: getting arrested/lynched for allegedly stealing another man’s penis.

Since I live in a log home, I've often wondered how it would fare in a direct hit by a tornado.

To stop what? Certainly the answer must be of some moment to at least some of the inhabitants of that community. This is the sort of thing that better proofreading can (dare I say it?) stop.

Meanwhile, those poor Springfielders are suspended on tenterhooks. Most uncomfortable.

A few months ago we started noticing a regular drumbeat of news stories and other articles related to life in the cube — how to survive it, how to decorate it, how to get out of it — and just plain living in it. What we couldn't find was a place that brought all this together, a place for cube dwellers to get tips, share their experiences and otherwise "find their people."
