Most noticeably, Americans have dug deep into their pockets to help out the people of coastal Louisiana and Mississippi on two seperate occasions recently - in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina and just a few days ago in the wake of Hurricane Gustav. The Obama folks have chosen to turn the other cheek as much as possible.
