Yesterday morning, I was on the phone with several friends in Israel. As usual, I was awake during the night and had the news on when a terrorist bulldozed its way down Jaffa Street, killing several people and injuring dozens more.

Knowing the location, had the bulldozer not been stopped where it was stopped, hundreds could have been killed at a very busy market nearby.

The Nashville Israeli community invites all to participate in a Yom Hazikaron: Israel Remembrance Day commemoration. It begins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7 in the West End Synagogue East Chapel. The memorial service will be followed by an Israeli-style Yom HaAtzmaut celebration starting at 6 p.m. It will include a kosher falafel dinner and music.
