Earlier in the week, I received the following YouTube from one of your spouses. Said spouse claims to not read Tiny Cat Pants, but has apparently heard enough about it to know I would love this video.

The Consumerist claims to have a list of the first group of Starbucks stores that will close by the end of the month. The store at the northern tip of Salemtown (Rosa Parks & Dominican) is not listed; in fact, no Tennessee stores are listed in this group.

Let me start here by saying to my skeptical Texan friends -- I know, I know. You won't believe me until you've eaten it yourself, and frankly, you're not that inclined to come all the way to Nashville [just to find out I'm right].

But I am -- this is the best Mexican food. Ever.

I'm not usually an optimist about things these days in the business world but I actually have some optimism about the surge in oil and gas prices. 

If you’re like me, you get an idea in your head of what you want and it sticks there. I need a simple shed to put mowers and the tractor under just to keep them out of the sun and rain. The back deck already has something exactly like that over it and it’s basically aluminum or steel posts that are 3″ square that support some beam-like things shaped like a C.

I’m reading a Carl Hiaasen book that came out several years ago called “Sick Puppy.”

I’ve read some of this other stuff and occasionally, when I want a fun, snarky read, I’ll pick up one of his books and go to town. I liked “Native Tongue” quite a bit as well.

Maybe it’s because I live in Nashville (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!), but I keep finding great expressions of positive psychology principles in country music.  One recent example is Dierks Bentley’s What Was I Thinking.  The song feat

Parents calling professors about their college students' homework. Parents showing up in place of their college children for orientation. Parents going with their college graduated students on interviews -- and then calling the HR department to complain when their kids don't get the jobs.

These are but a few of the true stories about today's helicopter parents.
