Andy Sher and friend report on the historic incentives afforded Volkswagen:

Tennessee offered its richest incentive package — and perhaps the most government assistance and tax breaks ever for an American automobile plant — to lure Volkswagen to Chattanooga.

The economy doesn’t seem to be improving and housing prices are dropping (though interest rates are, too). Common sense would say there wouldn’t be too many folks looking to trade-in their current jobs for one that you are offering. The position is still vacant, and the Director is getting impatient.

So I just got a chance to watch last night’s Libertarian Presidential candidates’ debate and the candidates speeches leading up to the nomination, and I gotta tell ya&#82

I’m keeping my options wide open in the coming weeks as far as employment is concerned. I’m excited about the consulting and full time possibilities that lie ahead. What I’m not excited about is the potential con artists who take advantage of people looking for work.

TSA is at it again. First it’s pulling 80 year old women aside for special attention. Now it’s vacationing families with toddlers and strollers. And what do you know … they found a 5 oz. bottle of lotion - two ounces more than the maximum allowed. It was confiscated. Did I mention they missed the scissors in the kids bag? **sigh**
