Though the cold is apparently here in Tennessee to stay, we enjoyed sunny days in the mid-70s well into November. Anxious to enjoy the sunshine and warmth while they lasted, I took Elijah for several late afternoon walks to soak up the last precious minutes of daylight.

Last night on Destination Truth, they went to Iceland in search of elves.  I wish they’d spent more time talking about elves than looking for them, but what can you do?

So, I think I wasn’t alarmed until after I got hit and then, it was mostly that I was so startled.  I kind of heard people yelling “B.’s gonna die!” and I certainly saw the fireworks tipping over and shooting straight at me, this dancing flashing popping swirl of light.  But it never occured to me to move or to be afraid.

I am almost insanely excited about visiting…the Midwest.

Two words.

New Orleans.

I always thought culling tourists might be a little tedious.
