As you may be aware, the Harding Place Extension is a topic of interest. This endeavor began during the 1970s. This plan involves extending Harding Place to run parallel to Donelson Pike. How could it affect you, well apart of the plan includes closing Smith Springs Road as it approaches Faircloth. Many are concerned about the closing of this section of Smith Springs Road at Old Murfreesboro Road to close off just before one reaches Faircloth.

Council Member Jason Holleman's attempt to apply an historic overlay to the abandoned Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ comes to public hearing tonight. The feel that I'm getting from this controversial bill is that it is breaking down into a battle between absentee congregation and preservationist neighbors living around the building. Nashvillians know Jason Holleman as a Metro council member who represents the 24th District, which includes the Sylvan Park neighborhood. He’s also an accomplished attorney who specializes in local government issues and has, in his words, represented “neighborhood groups and small communities.”

In Mt. Juliet they know him by another title: City Attorney.
