The City Paper cannot wait to pave over Bells Bend and they want to sell you their heart-tugging phantasm sans the slippery slope that leads to the development of every square inch of rural greenspace that doesn't sit on flood plain. It still looks like a MetroCenter do-over to me.

One of the great public resources we have here in the North End is the Cumberland River Greenway that sits on top of the levee that keeps the Cumberland out of MetroCenter when it swells.

According to MSNBC, Starbucks has increased the number of stores it plans to close from 100 to 600.  The Salemtown/MetroCenter Starbucks has one thing going for it and one thing going against it:

Country Music Marathon Leaders Passing Through the North End

I showed up at the marathon race course this morning about 7:45 and was able to get some photos of the leaders of the pack passing through the North End. While I missed the men's leaders heading out of Downtown and up Rosa Parks, I did catch them on the leg down Rosa Parks from MetroCenter to Bicentennial Mall.
