If failed Lehman was giving its executives hundreds for millions in bonuses as its economic ship sank, how much more did the companies that the federal government has committed to save burn on frivolous bonuses and golden parachutes during the economic decline of the past few years?

Earlier this week, I heard a supposed UT fan call into one of our local call in shows and say the worst thing that could ever happen would be for the Vols to win this weekend. His logic--if we win, it means the Vols could get ten wins this year, including a bowl win and we'd beat a big rival when we weren't supposed to.

I got a delightful suggestion in my e-mail box today that really appeals to my sense of productive mischief. And I think those Hillary supporters still nursing hurt feelings might appreciate it, too.

When it comes to corned beef, that Jewish deli staple, I've found Noshville sorely lacking. In cities that have large Jewish populations (and thus more Jewish delis), Noshville's CB would be laughed right off the slicer.

Today is the first day in about, oh gosh, a month maybe, that I have really felt like myself. 

This last month has found me in an unusually stressed out mode of being that frankly, I just don’t like.  I mean, we all have our moments and all that, but, me and stressed out/tense/wired/wound up mode just do not mix. 

I wonder if Tennessee kicker Britton Colquitt’s DUI suspension for the first five games of the season wound up costing the Vols a victory last night in Pasadena?

Or did the defense have a few drinks in the locker room during halftime?

As Mr. Heaton is a heckuva lot smarter than me, and being that I agree with him on this and am having a moment of intellectual superiority because we are on the same page.
