"Another English First post on the same day?" you may be asking. But a charter amendment proposal this colossally stupid demands rigorous ridicule.

As I've been documenting on Twitter, my grandmother has been having a pretty serious health scare over the past couple of days. We still don't know what's going on, but the possibilities have run the gamut from colitis to cancer.

Mayor Karl Dean won his office by promising not to return Nashville to the “old-style politics.” Thankfully, he didn’t mean it when it comes to the English First initiative. If ever there was a old-style political power play, it’s his derailing of English First.

It may be a technicality, and it may be short-lived, but anything that makes English Only less likely to become law is a good thing, in my opinion:
