I have been meaning to blog about this all week, but forgot.

Let’s recap.

–We have a school district.  Until recently, it was headed up by Pedro Garcia, whose goal in superintending seemed to be to throw everything against a wall and see what stuck.  He kind of really sucked.

Councilman Jerry Maynard is not pleased at all by the recent actions of the school board:

Metro Council member Jerry Maynard says “there’s a strong possibility” the school board will wind up in court trying to defend its rezoning plan.

Jeff Woods has some choice words for the School Board and Nashville's white progressive leadership, personified by Mayor Karl Dean et al.:

Steve Glover was right—there were five votes for Nashville’s school rezoning plan. He must be clairvoyant, right?

According to Jeff Woods, "Chamber of Commerce types" lobbied the School Board and the Re-districting Task Force to exempt Germantown, Hope Gardens, Salemtown, and Downtown from the MNPS redistricting plan because allegedly white parents here do not want to send their kids to school with black kids.

Y’all, I have always owned this dresser, from the time I was a little girl until now.  It came from some relative before that.

And when I was cleaning it out yesterday, I found an old coloring book of mine.  Along with my college diploma.  And some Barbie pajamas.

Which I kept.

According to the Salemtown e-mail list, the meeting between the presidents of Historic Germantown, Inc., Salemtown Neighbors Neighborhood Association, Hope Gardens Neighborhood Association, and the Urban Residents Association could have gone better.
