Some time ago, when the economy really started tanking, I had a commenter who repeatedly tried to convince me with all these crazy rightwing talking point (Johnny McCranky could've taken some lessons from this guy), that the "economy was fundamentally strong" and we were nowhere near a recession.  

"Everywhere I went, they turned their backs."

Now, if folks holding degrees are facing a limited and highly competitive job market, imagine the difficulties faced by those who haven't even finished high school.

Compound that with the fact that they have no phone to receive interview requests, no place to shower if they do have an interview to attend, no suitable clothes

So I've spent the past few days up here in Columbus out working for Barack...I can't give any real sort of prediction of what will happen based on my experience, except to say that I think Clintonville, a neighborhood/suburb of Columbus, will vote for Obama (its sort of like the white liberal capitol of the city).

There have been some heartening, and disheartening, things about my experience here.
