So, Mayor Karl Dean, who has generally looked anemic on issues of concern to many city neighborhoods appears serious and steadfast that "it is time to stop talking" and "get on with" developing mass transit. Great. But talking about getting on with it is still just talk.

Steve Gill goes on a straight rant against Tom Leatherwood’s role in the Great Income Tax Debate. Gill takes issue with John Rodgers’ article in the City Paper which portrays Marsha Blackburn and Leatherwood as equally against the income tax:

"The end of 2007 brought to a close another year marked by staggering levels of racist hate in America."

I have been saying since I started this blog that many in this country are growing desperate. This nation is a seething cauldron of pissed off, frustrated and desperate people looking for something to vent their desperation, rage and frustration on. This boiling stew of emotion breeds contempt, ignorance, recklessness and often stupidity.
